TARAWA was well up from the beginning, responded to urging in the stretch, wore down DARBY DINGBAT and drew away. The latter was sent through on the inside rounding the stretch turn, assumed command for a few strides and faltered. POLITICS was a prominent factor and had no mishap. REGAL MAID began slowly and finished well. FREDDIES GAME was never a factor. MOTIE BRAND could not keep up. HAPPY LARK tired badly. LUCKY GAMBLE was fractious at the post. FIGHTING LADY was steadied along in front, shook off determined opposition from ALMA MATER, was eased slightly in the final furlong, but responded to hand urging to hold AKRON GAL safe. The latter dropped out of contention early, began to improve her position rounding the stretch turn and finished fast. ALMA MATER was sent up determinedly going to the far turn, but flattened out in the late stages. DAUBERS GIRL was well up from the beginning, then tired. LOVE. STORY could not keep up. PROOF COIL, in near pursuit of the pace from the start, was under pressure when in close quarters at the end. OMAMAX, outrun in the first part, made up some ground. NOVIEW tired in the " stretch run.
