HAIRAN BEST, very sluggish early, moved around the outside with a rush on the turn and gradually wore down BAYONET. The latter moved to the front on the outside on the turn, then fought it out willingly with the winner. BROGDEN, always in a contending position, held on well. CARMELITA H. had early speed to set the pace in the backstretch and gave way grudgingly. GYPSY ACTRESS moved up threateningly between horses on the turn, then flattened out. MISS WALKER was in close quarters on the turn and did not recover. FLASH A TAN could not keep up. CARRY MEA did not appear to fancy the going. Scratched 00408 Muzz, 107; 00408 Playful Jane, 103. SIN LEE trailed early, improved his position gradually and finished well, but was no. match for thewinner. VALDINA STYLE had speed to open a clear lead, but flattened out when challend. GLASTAUDER swerved in slightly at the start, had speed to take command at once, drew into a clear lead while racing well out from the rail, but was under mild pressure at the end. SPEEDWAY, outrun early while trailing, moved up quickly turning into the stretch and finished well. PETES KID lacked early speed, raced lapped with DUZIT and was on the outside most of the way, then held on stubbornly. GALLANTRY, closest to the winner early and saving ground, fought it out willingly. DUZIT raced evenly and on the inside early, but quit badly. The latter, under restraint closest to the pace of BIT GAY. disposed of the latter to take command on the turn and drew clear, but could not withstand the bid of the winner. COUNT DOUBLE raced evenly and forwardly while saving ground, but hung. WALTERS BOY, outrun early, could not threaten when placed to punishment. BIT GAY quit after showing some early speed.
