E. Mettz; bred by U. S. Remount. WENT TO POST-5:27. OFF AT 5:27 CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won ridden out; second and third driving. CODE MENTOR, reserved early, went to the front when roused approaching the stretch, held on determinedly when ridden out and appeared ready to increase his advantage at the finish. TIME UP, outrun early, moved up boldly when set down for the drive, but could not reach the winner while easily besting the others. DARBY DISMAY assumed command early, established a long lead, but tired after setting the pace to the upper turn. GRAYS BAY never was dangerous and tired badly during the final quarter. GREVILLE failed to stay after showing early speed. MARATIMER was outrun. SLY MANNER could not keep up. PAINTERS bandages came loose during the running and he never was a serious factor. SONG SPINNER was far back throughout, laboring in the heavy footing. Attendance, 11,000 Estimated; Total Mutuel Pool, 29,566. Returned to Public, 56,610, Less Breakage.
