; Renew Renew Hyde Hyde Park, Park, Princess Princess Doreen; Doreen; Stymie Stymie and and Gallorette Gallorette Vie Vie in in Brooklyn Brooklyn Pindus Among Six Others in Line-Up Jacobs Router Must Garry 128 Pounds While Seeking Repeat Triumph in Fixture AQUEDUCT, L. I., N. Y., June 21. A surprisingly large field of eight horses have been named overnight for tomorrows fifty-eighth running of the 0,000 Brooklyn Handicap at a mile and a quarter. The three originally expected to provide the contention, Mrs. Ethel D. Jacobs Stymie, W. L. Branns Gallorette and Mrs. Eddie Haywards recently acquired Pindus, have all been named, as well as W. Goadby Loews Helioptic, Sunshine Stables Lets Dance, Col. E. R. Bradleys Burning Dream, Herman Salomans Stage Bond and Edward M. Johnsons Ekyad. The latter is a maiden, who has yet to finish in the money in any kind of company. The Brooklyn winds up an Aqueduct meeting that will hardly go down in history for its brilliance, though the fields for the final program of the 18-day session, the first of which was conducted at Belmont Park, filled earlier and more abundantly than has been the case in recent days. May Rule Equal Choices Stymie and Gallorette will probably be almost equal choices tomorrow, though the son of Equestrian must carry 128 pounds, conceding 10 to the Brann filly, who placed second belween him and Pavot in last weeks Sussex Handicap at Delaware Park. I The presence of such speed horses as Lets Dance, Burning Dream, Helioptic and Stage Bond in this edition of the Brooklyn favors Stymie, who needs a fast early pace to bring his rivals back, to him. All of these potential pacemakers are lightly weighted and can be expected to go out in an effort to steal tEe rich prize. Stymie beat as good a horse as Devil Diver in last years Brooklyn, but had a dozen pounds less on his back than he will have to carry tomorrow. However, there is no Devil Diver in this field. Gallorette is somewhat like Wordsworth Continued on Page Thirty Stymie and Gallorette Vie Again in Brooklyn Handicap Continued from Page One "Little Girl With the Curl" in that she can be very, very good, but can also be horrid. In her good races, she usually comes from behind in somewhat the same style as v.Sstymie, while in her bad races she makes an earlier bid, then flattens out. No rider has yet been assigned to either of the probable favorites. Pindus, who raced in stakes company for William Helis, has races in his record that would give him a chance under a mere 108 pounds. The son of Chance Shot worked between races here the other day in rather impressive style, finishing a creditable mile and a furlong with a final eighth in 13 seconds. In his last race he finished fast to be beaten a little less than a length by Apropiado. Helioptics last race here was dismal, but before that he beat Lets Dance in- a thrilling duel in a mile and a sixteenth. Burning Dream is a considerably improved colt who gets in with 105 pounds, and could possiby steal this Brooklyn, though the stakes has rarely been won by a feather-weighted horse, the last winner with less than 116 pounds being The Chief, who scored under 105 back in 1938. The record for weight carrying in the Brooklyn, incidentally, belongs to Alfred G wynne Vanderbilts Discovery, who packed 136 when winning the fixture for the third straight time in 1936.
