Bullet Proof May Be Smallest To Parade in Derby Line-Up CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., April 30. — Mrs. M. E. Whitneys Kentucky Derby representative, Bullet Proof, may have the distinction of being the smallest horse in the post line-up on the eventful May 3 date. However, the chestnut son of Stepenfetchit and Shatterproof does not give the impression of being an underdeveloped colt, or one that need ask consideration from his larger adversaries. Bullet Proof reaches to a height of only 14 hands and three inches, but is exceptionally well knit. The colt possesses a star in the middle of his broad forehead and his eyes reflect the intelligence of his mild manners. Bullet Proof was lightly regarded as a threat until his impressive victory in the Chesapeake stakes at Havre de Grace last Saturday. In the 0,000 feature, the stouthearted mite came from a far distant last to circle the entire 14-horse field and win going away by two lengths at the finish of one and one-sixteenth miles. With consideration for his proven ability and indicated likeness for the longer Derby distance, Bullet Proof must be given an excellent dark-horse chance for the coveted horseshoe of roses.
