LITTLE ACTION, always forwardly placed, assumed command in the early stretch, dropped back slightly when her rider began pulling up at the sixteenth pole, then again drew clear while being ridden out. RAIMENT rallied from well back, but could not reach the top one. EXPLORATION, badly outrun early, closed willingly on the outside through the stretch. CALENDAR dwelt at the start, moved into contention gradually to the stretch, then hung. NELLA JONES quit badly through the stretch. DARGLO weakened. ALFHANGRIER showed nothing. GOLDEN BABE quit. SEBO, steadied in close attendance to the pace, responded to strenuous urging and outfinished POMPEYS SONG. The latter displaced the leader after a half, drew clear on the turn and just missed. ENON raced wide while rallying and hung slightly in the final test. JOHNNIE C. was sluggish early and closed willingly under his inexperienced rider. MISS COLUMBUS closed some ground from a very sluggish start. GREAT HOPE was through early. ROYAL SARADA was never a factor . Scratched— 218692 Regaler, 115; 21356 Carey Street, 115. THE HEIR forged to the front soon after the start, was taken in hand when TROUGH MILL moved up to wrest the lead approaching the fourth jump, regained command when TROUGH HILL fenced poorly at the fourteenth fence and drew out in the closing drive. TROUGH HILL, a forward factor from the start, was setting a good pace when he fenced poorly at the fourteenth jump and failed to recover. GENANCOKE was well placed from the start, but wasnt good enough. PARADER had early speed. DONOMORE was never prominent. FIRE HIGH lost his rider at the thirteenth jump. FOURTH RACE 4 1-2 FURLONGS. TOP FOOT could not improve his position. TECHELAND had no mishap. BLUE HOLLY weakened after showing early speed between horses. REBORN failed to reach serious contention. NOMADIC rallied mildly on the turn and flattened out in the drive. TWOSY broke tardily and failed to reach contention. GRILLETTE was outrun from the start. IRENIC was steadied when outrun by DRAW ONE, again assumed the lead on the final bend, then outfinished the latter. DRAW ONE was well rated while showing in front, held on extremely well under good pressure, but was not good enough. LUMP SUGAR rallied from far back, but could not reach the top oair. CAPTAIN KIDD caught tired horses. DESERT ISLE failed to rally. THUNDER tired. KNIGHTS HURRY was through after six furlongs. BRIARBROOM quit. Scratched— 218704 Dispelled, 110. JOSHUA outran the field from the outset and won with speed in reserve. TONYS. FIND was always a forward factor, but was no match. SHAKO was shuffled back early, worked way into contention steadily, but could not seriously threaten. I BELIEVE raced evenly. SHIVAREE tired. IN FRAGANTI was taken under restraint early and was not punished. MESCARA was pinched back soon after the start.
