. ! : : i : , : Pellicle Arrives to Keep Engagement in Havre McLennan Sees Starting Field Of Ten for Week-End Feature. HAVRE DE GRACE, Md., May 20. The arrival here today from New York of Hal Price Headleys Pellicle lends considerable interest to Saturdays renewal of the 0,-000 Havre de Grace Handicap. The four-year-old gelded son of Sir Da-mion Pelisse, has yet to enter the winners circle this season, but has shown flashes of the form which enabled him to register five victories in 1946 and earn 2,345. Pellicle opened his 1947 campaign by finishing second in the six-furlong Phoenix Handicap at Keeneland; was fourth in the Ben Ali Handicap at the same course; finished second in the Clark Handicap at Churchill Downs and most recently was sixth in the Metropolitan Handicap at Belmont Park. Racing secretary Charles McLennan anticipates a field of at least 10 for Saturdays one mile and a furlong feature. The likely starters are Calumet Farms Pep Well, 126; K. A. OConnors Statesman, 117; King Ranchs Flash Burn, 116; Christiana Stables Alexis, 114, and Service Pilot, 108; Pellicle, 114; Mrs. E. H. Augustus Blue Yonder, 113; Shamrock Stables Darby Dieppe, 113; Gustave Rings Prefect, 110, and J. H. Hammonds Butler, 109. There also is a possibility that Turbine, owned" by the estate of Mrs. H. Lebowitz, and slated to carry 123 pounds, and Mrs. Alfred Roberts War Watch may start. However, these two are doubtful starters at the moment.
