SPOON BREAD, far back and outrun to the last three-eighths, came to the extreme outside entering the stretch and, responding to mild urging, assumed command to win going away. MISS G. G., in hand to the final quarter, came willingly when roused for the drive, but was not good enough for the winner. WAR ATLAS, never far back and well handled, failed to rally when set down in the drive. GOLD CALL raced well to the stretch, then weakened. PUFFED UP went to the front early, made the pace for three-quarters and gave way. DEVILS BREW was outrun. JANES ROSE had early speed. PORT MARS stumbled at the start.
