HELEN MILLER dropped back slightly rounding the turn and closed with good energy through the final furlong. GIFTED MISS was forced to work her way into contention steadily to the stretch, then hung. SHES BACK weakened after pressing the pace to the stretch. INVESTIGATE, rated while setting the pace, flattened out under pressure. KEPENG showed nothing. GALAMILK, slow to settle in stride, rallied willingly on the outside from the three-eighths pole and wore down BLUE CROSS. The latter moved into the lead under pressure nearing the stretch and was unable to resist the winner. HATTIE K. worked way into contention from far back and closed best of all. ADORANT, in front along the backstretch, weakened slightly under pressure. TRUE DREAM had speed in spots. MISCHIEVIOUS faltered after showing early speed. GOING AIRY raced with the pace on the outside from the start, was nicely handled in the closing test and wore down IRISEN. The latter set the pace from the start, held on tenaciously under good urging, but could not hold the winner. CALIPER, slow to settle into stride, closed with good energy. TACARO MILKMAN appeared to have sufficient room while attempting to move through on the inside of the top pair, but was not good enough. URANIUM failed to rally. DOBBIN weakened. TURBINE was under steadying restraint while within striking distance of the leaders, reached the first flight from the outside and won under mild urging. BLUE YONDER was fortunate enough to get through on the inside throughout his rally, but could not stay with the winner during the final furlong. NEW MOON took a commanding lead after disposing of RAMPART, held on gamely to the early stretch and tired badly after being taken under restraint when TURBINE moved to the lead. SHIVAREE was a forward factor and, under strong restraint most of the way, tired slightly in the drive. RAMPART was through early. MESCARA was overmatched. SWEEP TORCH was rated in the first flight, disposed of WOOFIE when placed to a drive, took the lead, but could not hold the winner while strongly driven. AETHELRED rallied in the stretch to close with good energy and was up in time to dead-heat with GAYWARD. The latter also closed a gap. SVENGALI failed to reach serious contention. WOOFIE set the pace, but failed to stay in the final drive. NORA BELLE was rushed to be closest to the pace early and quit SIGNALS BLOKE weakened.
