TROPEA sprinted into a commanding early lead, was never seriously threatened and once again came back a trifle lame. MAGIC STEP rallied from well back and closed with good energy. LOUIS L. raced evenly while showing speed throughout. STROLLING DON closed with good speed to catch tired horses. RED WRACK, far back for the first half mile, came with good energy through the stretch. CAHORS tired. TIGER BESS had speed for a half mile. TOONERVILLE quit. SUNDAY KNIGHT, forwardly placed early, drifted out turning for home and, under extreme pressure, wore down GEORGIE V. The latter was sluggish early, circled the field to take command in the early stretch, held a clear advantage near the sixteenth pole, then gave way in the final stride. CY DART rallied well to get on even terms with the leader at the furlong pole, then faltered. GREY-DEL closed willingly when able to move through on the inside. PAGE II. pressed the pace for a half mile and weakened. AYLESBURY quit badly after setting the pace for a half mile. JOHNNIE C. was slow to settle in stride, moved into serious contention boldly when able to move through on the inside, but hung. COMELY BABE displaced the leader along the backstretch, turned back another challenge by POMPEYS SONG soon after leaving the back-stretch, then tired. POMPEYS SONG quit badly. ASTRAL rallied willingly and may have been closer had his bandages not been streaming off through the stretch. SARAWAK closed with a late rush. FLYSOLATE was forwardly placed while hard held, but flattened out in the stretch run. MISTER CHAT dropped back through the stretch. MIRBRIAR quit. Scratched 22760 Ration Book, 116.
