Detroit Also-Eligible List Differs From Other Tracks FAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., May 23. Horsemen are reminded that the "also-eligible" list being used at Detroit this season does not operate as do similar lists elsewhere. The list is limited to four horses and no horse drawn into the original field or on this list will be excused from racing except on a veterinarians certificate of unfitness, change in track condition or causes acceptable to the stewards and the further entry of any horse excused by the veterinarian will not be accepted for 48 hours except in feature races. The most important difference, however, s that to insure that all horses will be "entered to run," those on the "also-eligible" list will be drawn into the race by lot to fill any vacancy that might arise in the original field. This is in contrast to the generally used plan, whereby horses on the "also-eligible" list automatically move into the race in the order originally drawn.
