Historic Kings Plate Run At Woodbine Park Today Watch Wrack, Tularch, Kanlee Big Three of Eighteen Entered WOODBINE PARK, Toronto, Ont., May 23. The Kings Plate, blue ribbon event of the Canadian turf, is set for its eighty-eighth running at the Woodbine Park grounds of the Ontario Jockey Club tomorrow. Of the original 44 Canadian-foaled three-year-olds named to contest the affair, 18 have shown enough in their long and gruelling preparation for their trainers to name them overnight for the mile and a furlong test, which carries a value of 0,000 added in addition to 50 guineas, the gift of His Majesty the King, and, should all answer the call, the coffers of the winning owner will be enriched by 0,685. With prospects for a fast racing strip, it is expected that three performers, the Don Earl Stables Watch Wrack, C. G. Mc-Cullaghs Tularch, and Harry Lahmans Kanlee, will receive the bulk of public support. Others the talent is expected to fancy are the Brae Side Stables Leonforte, Parkwood Stables Moldy, R. W. R. Cowies Yellow Knife, J. E. F. Seaegrams Tregaron, and the C. W. Lawson-Bur-Fitz Stable entry of Victory Chimes and Bur-boy. Taking a line on the six furlongs of the Plate Trial run at Woodbine just a week ago, it could be that Tularch will prove a lukewarm choice with the better than 30,000 fans that are expected to witness the tussle, rated one of the most interesting in years. Watch Wrack, rated the solid horse on cold dope by many, had the misfortune to ! suffer a quarter crack just a week back. However, he has been patched up by Harry Giddings and his most recent trial of a mile in 1:43 indicates he will not be at too much of a disadvantage. Harry Lahmans Kanlee, fitted for the engagement by the youthful Morris Fish-man, will face starter Walter Richey keyed to concert pitch. The rangy son of Kanuck and Vingt Cinq has never made one bad move in his long training for the Woodbine classic and, should he fail, there will be no excuses to offer for his downfall. The Brae Side Stables Leon Forte, successful in a Plate trial last Saturday, has come up to the race in fine fettle. He is a colt gifted with a nice turn of early foot and, although he just managed to hang on long enough last Saturday to stall off both Tregaron and Victory Chimes, his connections are of the opinion he is well equipped to negotiate the long distance of the plate.
