JIMS JEANIE, hustled to gain command in the first quarter, was steadied along under light restraint and drew out to win as rider pleased. SELCAP, unable to remain with the early leaders, rallied under urging when straightened for the drive and closed gamely. CELTICS forced the early pace, saved ground, but was not good enough. IRON WORKS broke alertly, was unable to remain with the pace, then closed with good energy. JR. OSULLIVAN retired steadily after the first quarter. BYGONES, well placed on the outside, flattened out in the drive. JAM0KE, away slowly, finished with good energy. CROTCHETY showed nothing. MAR DESPRIT forced the early pace while in the middle of the track, then weakened and was not persevered with. GHOST BOUND, forwardly placed, was sent up on .the outside of the leader nearing the quarter pole, assumed a short lead and continued gamely. WISE BRUNETTE engaged SIGNAL TIME while on the inside, saved ground into the stretch and held on tenaciously. BINGE, unable to reach the leaders when set down, finished evenly under urging. MUCHAS GRACIAS made up ground late. AIR DAME, between horses while trying to reach the leaders, tired slightly in the final stages. DARK PASS rallied mildly in the final furlong. SIGNAL TIME weakened. LUMPKIN showed nothing. The others were outrun. SOME BID assumed early command, drew clear, was steadied along while saving ground, came out to the better ground for the drive and, under steady urging, held EVELYN ROLLS safe. The latter, forwardly placed on the inside, rallied mildly when set down. WISE ADVICE forced the early pace, made a game bid turning the far turn, then faltered. UN-EQUALED was hustled after a quarter to gain contention, then raced evenly. SPEEDY FELLOW showed nothing. MINTLOCK, caught in close quarters early, was taken up repeatedly until clear, then failed to respond to urging. SON OF HEELS, taken back off the early pace, was in hand to the final quarter, rallied readily when roused to assume command and continued gamely under stout pressure. AIRY GOER, slow to settle in best stride, saved ground and closed with a rush on the inside. QONA engaged SEA RAFT from the start, alternated in setting the pace, held on gamely when challenged, then faltered in the final sixteenth. HOP PICKER, under stout restraint for six furlongs, drew into contention on the inside, was moving rapidly when caught between horses entering the stretch and never recovered. LISTING showed nothing. FLIGHT MAN, rated back of the leader for a half, drew into the lead when set down, shortened stride nearing the furlong pole, but was best of the others. PEACE TALK rallied mildly under a drive. HELPSWEEP saved ground while finishing with good energy. SILVER ACE was outrun to the final furlong, then closed ground under pressure. NATHS PET had brief speed.
