Memorial Day Attendances Attendances at U. S. race tracks yesterday were somewhat lower than on Memorial Day in 1948. Early reports showed a total of 311,924 turf fans turning: out for the sport at 10 major courses, as against 344,997 at the same number of tracks last year.
