Gains Tradition Early CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio, May 19.— The Ascot Park Gold Cup is gathering to itself the lustre and tradition that only years of continual running can give it. Set for its eleventh running on July 21, closing day of the 43-day Ascot session which gets under way June 2, the Gold Cup is unique in that it. has added so greatly to its value in so short a time. Vice-president Henry Green inaugurated the Gold Cup in 1941 with a purse value of 00. This years running will be worth 1,000. In 1949 the race carried a ,500 purser which was raised to 0,000 for its tenth running. Green then declared that each year its value would Increase ,000 to keep it abreast of the number of years that it has been run. ,
