Turf Course Event Heads Todays Lincoln Program Brecon Beacons, Riot and Magnus Figure to Be Stout Contenders WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, 111., May 19. — The Lincoln Fields Racing Association will offer the second race of the current season over the Washington Park grass course Monday. It is fashioned for four-year-olds and upward at one and one-sixteenth miles and drew a well-balanced field including Dixie McKinleys Festival II., M. H. VanBergs Magnus, A. H. Schierers Riot, Mrs-. Hattie Toffels Brecon Beacons, H. E. Nevins First Security, Mrs. Hi L. Nathansons Kay Doody, Mrs. J. E. Hankins Indian Gold, W. H. Bishops Tax Lien, Mrs. A. M. Creechs Sugar Pete, and D. Cataldos Castile. Brecon Beacons is a four-year-bid son of the Epsom Derby winner, Owen Tudor, and won his first American start at Suffolk Downs last year. This will be his second start of the meeting. He was unplaced behind Carmargo Bill and Fletter when that pair ran each other to a; nose finish last Monday, Carmargo Bill getting the decision. Riot,. a son of Whirlaway — Miss Dogwood, has been an in-and-outer throughout his career and has ranged up and down through the claiming ranks. He won four races last year and was claimed for ,500 in his latest start, although he has performed creditably while carrying claiming tags of considerable higher value. First Security is a winner this season. He finished fifth behind the Carmargo Bill-Fletter duel on opening day. Indian Gold, winner of two races last year,, has made only two starts this season.
