BLUE BADGE went to the front early, made the pace until inside the stretch while engaging LICTOR, continued gamely during the final furlong under punishment and held BUBBINS safe. The latter, never far back, was sent to the outside of BLUE BADGE for the drive, was bothered by BLUE BADGES riders whip, then came again, but could not get to the winner. LICTOR raced nearest BLUE BADGE to the ,last eighth, then faltered. FRERE JACQUES saved ground throughout, was kept to the inside for the stretch run, but could not menace the leaders. BLUE HEDDA was outrun. GAMAUN had no excuse. ENGAGED could not keep up after showing early speed. BILLY BUMPS was far back throughout. * Scratched— 28099 Mad Cord, 110; 279352 Bold King, 118.
