Kentuckian Surprise of Midwest Since Being Converted to Pacer Kentuckian, a full brother to the 1947 Hambletoniah winner, Hoot Mon, has proved to be the surprise of early season fans in the midwest. Owned by the Ward Brothers, Bloomington, 111., the six-year-old gelding son of Scotland-Missey now in his sixth year has been converted to a pacer, hobbles and all, after a very unimpressive career as a trotter. Much to the delight of his owners he has captured every race started so far under trie able driving of Jimmy Fleming, now quartered at Aurora Downs.
