SAND FLY, well handled, assumed command at once, raced MATTAFOR into defeat before reaching the stretch, then gamely withstood a brisk drive to hold GEE-LIGHT safe. The latter, a sharp factor after the beginning, despite a poorly judged ride, closed willingly under vigorous urging, but could not overtake the top one. MATTAFOR raced nearest SAND FLY to the stretch, then faltered. PALLIS ROYAL, on the outside for the drive, could not better his position. MOON MIAMI had no mishap in an even effort. QUEEN APACHE tired. HUNTERS GLORY was outrun. CORINNE T., knocked back leaving the backstretch, failed to recover, WAVE-A-LU had a rough trip. WAR HAL, hustled along to race HIDDEN ACE into defeat, field a short lead when settled for the drive, but could not withstand the winner. HOOP PARADE moved up -boldly at the final turn, but could not better his position when set down through the stretch. VERANO lacked early speed and raced wide. HIDDEN ACE went to the front early, engaged WAR HAL for three-eighths, then weakened. KEEP MOVING, eased back | after running into close quarters at the upper turn, failed to rally when clear. SEPHORA, in close quarters while racing evenly to the stretch, closed fast under brisk urging, but could not get to the top one. BANNER BOY lacked early foot, but finished strongly under punishment. ALPHAS CHOICE raced evenly without mishap. HAPPY LEE raced prominently to the last eighth, then faltered. DISICAL was outrun. FREE FOR ME went to the front during the stretch run, - but faltered nearing the finish. TIS JOE lacked early speed and raced wide during the last three-eighths. MOCK BATTLE began fast, but dropped back immediately after the start. FIRST FIDDLE was hustled to the front before reaching the stretch, but had nothing left for the drive. GRASS FIRE, forwardly placed from the outset, reached the lead when settled for the drive, but was unable to withstand the winner. ALPHARA, keen factor from the beginning,. held on well in a sharp effort and had no mishap. FUGITIVE could not better his position when sent to the inside for the drive. BARRE FLINT, forced wide at the stretch turn by NET REWARD, closed well when clear but could not reach the winner. NET REWARD, a sharp factor from the start, bore out at the stretch turn, forcing BARRE- FLINT and FREE LUNCH with her, then came again when straightened for the drive.
