Won driving; second and third the same. CONFECTION was under steady pressure while closest to the pace, then was under a prolonged drive to gradually draw clear from the outside in the last stages. ATOMIC MAID was under a free rein while, setting the pace, saved all possible ground and held on well. KY. WILDCAT, allowed to settle into stride, saved ground steadily .while improving position, then . swerved when put to punishment in the drive and could not get up. TEACH, taken to the inside after a slow beginning, made up considerable ground in the drive. GAME FLOWER dropped back immediately after the. start and was not a factor. SIR REGINALD quit. ROYAL BONES was guided extremely wide while rallying under punishment in the stretch, lugged in and had to be taken: in hand momentarily at the sixteenth marker, then asserted himself-at thfr end. BABY PAULY never was far back, moved up on the outside to reach the front between calls in the final stretch, but could not hold, the winner. LOTOFTOWN began alertly, but was taken up when blocked at the far turn, then drove between "the leaders to open a clear lead for the stretch run and weakened in the final drive. SPEEDY VAN raced to; the front from the inside immediately after the start, but faltered when headed midway on the turns. ..MARINIKIN raced wide. JALEEN raced very wide through the backstretch, then quit when unable to reach the front. Scratched— 28598 No Reward, 104. Overweight— Marinikin, 1 pound; Delve. Around, 1 . Baby Pauly claimed by J. HEAD STREAM, well ridden and unhurried when unable to join the leaders early, came between horses in the . stretch drive and responded determinedly to win going away. SHIRLSON was alertly sent to the front at the start, bore out badly on the turns, . but then held on well when straightened away in the final run. LARRY DOOLEY was rushed forward to head SHIRLSON after three furlongs, was carried wide by that one into the stretch and then hung. REBORN, sore going and slow tc reach best stride, saved tremendous distance when the field swung wide on the turns and loomed boldly in the early stretch, but then hung. EVEN LATER recovered quickly after stumbling at the start, but then weakened steadily. ONILRAC quit. COCKOFTHEWALK was through early. Overweight— Even Later, 1 pound; King yarvey, 3. RADJMAHAL was gradually urged into closer contention, had td be steadied while running up behind the leaders in the early stretch, then came to the outside and was up in the last strides. WELL MY WORD was under intermittent urging while a forward factor on the outside, gained the lead nearing the finish and just missed. ZUZIE B. saved ground while prominently placed and finished determinedly. GRILLING, in hand for a half mile While in closest attendance to the pace, wrested command on the far turn and held, sway into the final furlong, then weakened under punishment. ARTHURIAN had early speed and faltered. PAM LIGHT came from far back. LATE SHIP was outrun. ALPHO tired: DORADA gave a dull performance. HANKIE was difficult to load at the gate, began with his usual speed, however, and gradually increased his advantage while remaining under heavy pressure to the end. CREW-CUT was hustled along in closest pursuit of the pace, appeared mildly dangerous entering the stretch, but weakened. U ASKED FORIT worked forwardly placed between horses and finished well. METAL MIKE went to the front shortly after the start, stayed with A-PACOPEP when that one gained a short advantage from the inside on the turns, and then proved best under a prolonged drive. A-PACOPEP began alertly from the inside, had to be steadied when in close quarters on the far turn, but quickly found passage and went to the front, then fought it out willingly to the end in a game effort. RED ROMEO, slowest away from the gate, steadily made up distance from between horses, came to the outside for the stretch run and finished fastest PRIZE RING, unable to emerge,from between horses despite vigorous handling, was forced wide on the turns, then closed well when clear for the stretch run. KNIGHTS REWARD lacked early speed, but saved ground to improve position in the drive. SIR SIDNEY quit. RUSTY raced on the outside throughout, losing distance, and. faltered. OKAMSEL was steadied when displaced by BOLD WARRIOR entering the backstretch, easily regained command when shaken up on the far turn and weakened only -slightly in the drive. BOLD WARRIOR was under mild urging to take command early, then weakened gradually after six furlongs. COUNTRY BOY II., slow to reach stride and far back, rallied well to make up considerable ground late. LAST SHOT tired. OPERATOR quit. Overweight— Bold Warrior, 1 pound; Dentifrice, 4; The Maid, 4. LET ME THRU, away slowly and trailing, was lucky, to find room on the inside steadily moving to the pace after the initial half-mile, reached the front in the drive and held on resolutely under strong punishment. REUNION set the pace under nice rating hut willingly gave way when challenged by the top pair entering the stretch and weakened. LITTLE BOBBY raced prominently placed to the final turn and weakened.
