PITFALL worked his way between horses to gain command leaving the backstretch, drew clear, but shortened stride and had to be hard ridden to hold SWEET SIXTEEN safe. The latter raced close to the pace, saved ground along the rail and just missed. URANIUM closed willingly on the outside. GAMS had no mishap. SIR GORHILL weakened from forcing the pace. FRANCS CRACKER went evenly. TOP RAIDER lacked early speed. REYNARD was unable to keep up. MARUCA showed speed for a half mile. The others were outrun. MOOSE F0NE drew clear soon after the beginning, increased her margin into the stretch/ but had to be hustled to stave off the bid of DOIT EASY The latter, steadied within striking distance of the leader, rallied when roused, but was not good enough. NASSAU closed strongly with a belated rush. WENDIGO, close uo for a half mile, flattened out when put to pressure. GOLDEN MEAN was forced to lose ground throughout. SUNSHADE went evenly. SPLIT THE WIND passed tiring horses. BLUE FOX showed nothing. RAMPAGEOUS dropped back after a quarter mile and was never a serious factor. LITTLE STICK was outrun. HATTER WAR Was hustled from the outside position to draw in closest attendance of the leader before reaching the turn, continued on a straight course under energetic ride and was up to outfinish LUCKY-BREW. The latter left the barrier in swift fashion, drew clear, saved ground on the turns, then shortened stride under pressure and tired. MAMA NA WAWAE, well placed throughout, was closing on the leaders at the end. BUSY CARRIER improved position gradually. TOMMYS MEMORY went evenly. STAR BILLING was unable to keep up. SIRPOP weakened. BEAMING LIGHT forwardly placed early, was steadied to the final turn, rallied under steady urging, overtook the leader inside the final sixteenth and drew clear. SUNNYCREST GAL moved readily after a half mile engaged for command but had nothing left with which to cope with the winner. MUSICAL LADY opened a comfortable lead soon after the start, drifted out slightly and tired near the end. WAR TORO was allowed to drop far off the pace, rallied mildly but was unable to menace. MYEERAH passed tiring horses. TRUCHA lacked early speed. FLYING BOOTS showed nothing. U. S. NAVY set a rapid pace, was caught between the leaders on the final turn and knocked back. JOE PUCK, unable to keep up early, drove through along the inside, came of the outside of tiring horses and brushed SEDGEVIEW while under a strong drive and outfinished the latter. SEDGEVIEW, close to the pace down the backstretch, was eased back on the far turn, was sent up on the outside to engage for the lead and finished strongly. DUKES GAL dropped back after an alert start, was sent up on the outside entering the stretch and closed with good energy ALGASIR split the early leaders, drew clear nearing the final turn, then faltered. SCIPIO made up ground on the extreme outside. ALL AT ONCE went along with the fast pace for three furlongs, then weakened HERES HUBE forced the pace along the inside, challenged briefly on the final turn and guit. The latter moved on the outside with the winner and closed with a belated rush on the extreme outside. SAILING HIGH forced the pace, assumed a short advantage in the stretch and continued on gamely.
