POES POEM wore down ALL HYGRO under urging, opened a clear lead between calls, but was doing her best to hold HOPEFUL SUE safe at the end. HOPEFUL SUE, sent forwardly alonj the inside, came to the outside for the final run and finished resolutely. ALL HYGRO easily held the early lead, but weakened after three furlongs. RECURRING raced prominently placed and well. GARDEN WALL raced between horses and„ finished .willingly. STRAIGHT bore out on the turns. RED HOOPS began tardily. FAMERA was away slowly. TEXAS SKIES raced behind the first flight, had to be strongly handled to be taken to the outside for the drive, attempted to lug in, but was up %at the finish. 2 NET RESULT was sent to the fron from the ouside on he final urn, couldn ot open a clear lead, but fought it out gamly. HERMES slipped through on the inside, was hard punished and drew to the pace, but weakened. PODOLOFF was under pressure while setting the pace, was displaced on the final turn, then held on fairly well. HACKENSACK was not a serious factor. TESTATOR was outrun. DR. LAST BRIGADE /steadily wore down the early leaders, was under prolonged pressure In the drive and was gradually drawing clear from WISE MIKE . •t the end. WISE MIKE, forced back slightly by BARWAR after the start, saved ground improving position, flipped through to challenge for the lead entering the stretch, then was not good enough. TELECAST went ■long freely while holding a long lead for six furlongs, then faltered when headed. BARWAR bore out badly after the beginning, but was taken in hand, quickly straightened and urged in closest attendance to the pace, then quit in the drive. VIOLINIST, taken to the outside for clear racing after a slow beginning, rallied strongly for the drive and was up in the final strides to head DUSKY ANN. The latter quickly assumed command when shaken up for the drive, drew clear in the final furlong, but could not resist the winner. BOY BLUE was well placed behind the leaders, appeared dangerous when put to punishment in the early stretch, but was not good enough. PALS DREAM gradually improved position and finished well. FIRST SWING began alertly, raced with the first flight on the outside and held on well to gafn his placing. SCRUTINY, away poorly, saved ground improving position, then came to the outside for the drive and finished well without being a threat BOB-ED had speed for a half mile and quit. TOP LEVEL was threateningly placed on the outside from the start, willingly responded when shaken up for the drive and gradually drew clear from BUZZING BEE under confident handling. BUZZING BEE, hard hustled to gain a clear lead entering the far turn, saved ground in the drive, but was not good enough for the winner. JACK THE GREAT, away sluggishly, saved ground making up distance and finished determinedly while besting BAR. The latter saved ground to reach contention on the turns, then lacked a closing rally. TENURE, a trief contender early, tired. ST.. STEFANA could not gain_the early lead and quit. SWAMP RAT began fast, tried to get out on the far turn, then appeared to sulk and was eased up. RED NED was lucky to find room on the Inside and skimmed the hedge quickly while moving to the front when the leaders swung wide entering the7 back-stretch, Increased his advantage when shaken, up and won easily. GOOD LOOK, a keen contender while between horses, responded to heavy pressure and outfinished BOULEVARDIER. The latter was rated with the pace, then weakened gradually when placed under punishment. DEEP TEXAS saved ground while showing speed, dropped back in the drive and pulled up lame. WHITE BONES last ground on the outside while showing speed and tired. ADONIS, taken back while swerving leaving the gate, could not menace in the drive. BOWERY HALL was outrun, several times was blocked and had little chance.
