REYNARD assumed command soon after the start, was steadied while being rated slightly before the field and just lasted to hold SILVER REWARD safe. The latter broke alertly, was allowed to~drop back, moved again after a half mile and was catching the winner BOLD BRENNAN was forwardly placed on the outside and responded gamely in the stretch. FRANCS CRACKER raced close to the pace and held on well. BOSS WELL, forwardly placed while-saving ground, lacked a closing rally. TANNEKE finished with a late "rush. HASHER, blocked along the inside-, was steered to the outside, but was unable to menace. LITTLE RAJAH showed nothing. RED PRINCESS forced the pace before tiring. The othersr were outrun. HEAVENLY TUNE, forwardly placed under light restraint, rallied when sent up on the outside of the leader, gained command and withstood a challenge from VELVET BOUND. The latter, a forward factor from the outset, was pressing at the end. FIORENTINA opened a comfortable lead, before a quarter mile, .skirted the inner, rail and -weakened when challenged. LIEUTENANT slipped through along the rail, was lugging in badly and hampered the efforts of the rider: FINAL DRIVE lacked a closing rally. JACOS BOY passed tiring horses. DONNA S._had speed for a half mile. QUEEN CHICA was unable to keep up. The others were outrun. A claim of foul against the winner by the rider of FlOREMTlNA was disallowed. IN READINESS failed to rally under urging. STAR PRINCE was , caught in close quarters near the far turn and failed to recover. ANNS STEP was taken back when unable to secure racing room early and refused to extend herself rounding the final turn. ROY, quickest to begin, was placed under light restraint while kept, within striking distance of the pace, came through along the inside to engage for command, then was hard ridden to hold FOUR CHANCES safe. The latter set the early pace, remained close *up after giving way, responded to late urging and was challenging at the end. SHADOWS START was forced to lose ground on the outside when set down and failed to menace. BERNIE MOOSE, in hand and saving ground, lacked a late rally.
