Eleven Three-Year-Olds Named forMedford Purse Fighting Back Seen Favorite In Suffolk Downs Offering SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., June 19.— The ,700 Medford Purse occupies the featured spot on the semi-final mid-week program being offered at Suffolk Downs tomorrow. Styled exclusively for sophomores, the Medford will be contested at six furlongs and has attracted 11 better-thah-average three-year-olds. Included in the line-up is one coupling, that of Reynolds Brothers Mestiza and Trucha. Another allowances test on the nine-race cdrd, a five-furlong dash for juveniles which have not won two races, has drawn 10 youngsters of potential value. The remaining events, one of which will be contested at about one mile and on the popular turf course, promise an interesting afternoon of thoroughbred racing at this seaside oval. Murlogg Farms Fighting Back, who was declared from yesterdays 0,000 Yankee Handicap in favor of tomorrows engagement, appears in a much softer spot than he would have encountered in the richer event. The fact that he was thought enough of to be a starter in the recent Kentucky Derby, is almost enough endorsement for the son of Fighting Fox — Step-irfanna. His best effort of the season was turned in over the local oval, despite the fact he is still looking for his initial win of the year. The sternest opposition in the Medford should be forthcoming from J. J. Messanas Summer Cruise and the Reynolds pair. " Each of that trio have been displaying improvement in their recent outings and slight improvement would extend the choice. Completing the" line-up for the Medford will be Revoker, War Token, Myeerah, Johns Choice,. Exemplar, Fiora and Jeep Gypsy.
