Piet Topweighted at 124 For Saturdays Equipoise Pegged Four Pounds Over Volcanic In Arlington Parks Mile Feature ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, HI., June 19.— The six-year-old Piet, one of the strongest runners in eastern handicap ranks, has been assigned top weight of 124 pounds in the Equipoise Mile, which will have its twelfth running here Saturday. The son of Grand Slam, who won the Jamaica Handicap at Jamaica, the Toboggan at Belmont, the Whitney Stakes at Saratoga and the Bay Shore Handicap at Aqueduct last year and a total of over 5,000 in stakes alone, is still in the East and may be regarded as a doubtful starter. A newcomer who may make his first start here in the Equipoise Mile is the gray six-year-old, Miche, from South America. His lone .stakes success last year wajs in jthe k Inglewood Handicap at Hollywood Park. He will carry 117 pounds. Others well up on the list are Seaward and Curan-dero, another South American, each with 114; Wine List, with 112, and Jumbo with 109. Jumbo, a three-year-old, beat Battlefield and other good ones of his own age in the Swift Stakes at Belmont Park, and was second to Battlefield in the Withers.
