REPUDIATE broke alertly and remained forwardly placed, gained the lead when STAR BAND faltered and drew away. STAR BILLING was well placed from the break and went between -horses to gain -.the place. STAR BAND .shied from his field at the start and swerved in sharply, went up on the inside to reach the lead between calls in the stretch and faltered. STEVIE DEAR threatened mildly in the stretch and weakened. REVEL-ON lacked speed while being hard punished from shortly after the start. REBEE bore out in the final quarter mile. MOP UP, in a good position from the start, gradually moved up on the Cutside, displaced MIKE M. midway of the final furlong and just lasted. OTHELLO, slow to reach best stride, closed stronqly on the outside. MIKE M. obtained the lead entering the turn, held on well until the stretch and tired. ISLE OF WAR lasted best of the others. NARVIKO made a. mild bid leaving the turn and tired. ARILOU came out of the race sore. KADER had early speed and gave way. GAY FOX appeared very sore. POLITICIAN, reserved while saving ground, went into the lead when ready, was hard put when challenged at the -final fence and outgamed PAINTED SHIP. The latter, always well_ placed, went up with a rush to threaten boldly, but was not good enough. PRETENDER, taken back after" breaking alertly, went by tired horses with a belated bid. SNOB TOURIST vied for the lead until the sixth fence and gave way. BLACKHEATH, knocked back sharply entering the first turn, went up quickly on the outside to gain the lead briefly and is eligible to improve off the effort. SALAISE tired. FREE STRIDER, taken far back early, went by weary, horses. QUICK FIRE was used up making the early pace. ALPHABETICAL, prominently placed on the inside for six furongs, gave way.
