Jones Tenth Stakes Winner LEXINGTON, Ky., May 22.— Dark Star, victor in the Hialeah Juvenile Stakes, is the, tenth stakes winner sold by Warner L. Jones, Jr., in the yearling auctions since 1945. The owner of Hermitage Farm at Goshen, Ky., has compiled a remarkable record among regular consignors to the summer auctions. During the six-year period, 1945-50, he sold 36 yearlings. Nine, or 25 per cent, won stakes to the end of 1951. The Jones-sold stakes winners include three 00,000 winners— Flashco, Miss Kimo and Salmagundi, as well as Mel Eppley, Happy Birthday, Brolite, Miss Sal K., Quiz Song and Blue Revoke.
