Wellman Back at Detroit DETROIT, Mich., May 22.— Al Wellman, the Detroiter who has enjoyed unusually good success in the thoroughbred sport, checked in from Louisville and put away his useful stable. Three of Wellmans color-bearers won at the Derby oval last Thursday afternoon, Winstay, Locks, and Liebes-kind visited the winners ring on that afternoon. Others in his unit are Cass, Pro Tanto, Buds Pride, Copperstone, Bullrocket, Psychic -Lad, Noble Idea and Be Stylish. Locks, Tonys Trouble and Gloria Jean, which trio is conditioned by Wellman, belong to Thomas McDermott.
