One Miss Favorite Over Six Opponents Strickland Filly Has Rollicking Lad as Chief Garden State Rival GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 22. — The Chambersburg Purse is the most attractive event scheduled here tomorrow. It will be run as the seventh race with seven sophomores competing. G. F. Stricklands alert filly, One Miss", will be made favorite off her sharp performances here, while the opposing line-up is comprised of Blue Valley Stables Rollicking Lad, Mrs. S. M. Pistbrios Singing Beauty, C. C. Boshamers Yama, J. C. Wises Stony River, J. L. McKnights Blue Rhymer and S. P. Stecklers Decapolis. One Miss finished four lengths behind while third to Cinda and Recover in the Betsy Ross Stakes here last Saturday, and that race alone stamps her as decidedly the one to beat tomorrow. Prior to that, the sleek daughter of Occupy won handily by a couple of lengths and, in her two other best efforts, out of her six starts this spring, she finished second early in the Laurel meeting. One Miss is kindly weighted with 108 pounds. Rollicking Lad looks all over like the one who will cause most trouble; This colt, a son of The Rhymer, is a real speed merchant, and can be expected to open a wide early lead over this band. He- has not been able to get home yet in eight starts this spring, but there was nothing wrong With his effort here a few days ago when he led the field into the final furlong and then finished second to Fred R. Stony River deserves a chance to improve over his first outing this spring in Maryland, and Yama, too, may be more dangerous with the chance from an apprentice rider to jockey Ira Hanf ord. Singing Beauty will be making this her first start, while Blue Rhymer has shown little this season and Decapolis would be more at home over a distance of ground.
