Bennigsen Announces Purse Agreement at Fairmount FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., May 22. — Ray Bennigsen, one of Fair-mount Parks directors, has announced that the track and horsemen have come to a definite understanding on purse distribution and the opening races of the 32-day spring meeting will go on as scheduled Friday night. Robert O. Read, president of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association, whose headquarters are in Columbus, Ohio, and Joseph Kohout, of Chicago, vice-president of the Central Division of the HBPA, met with the horsemen yesterday. Then following a session between Bennigsen, general manager Edwin C. Moon, Kohout and Reed it was announced that there will be no hitch in the coming Fair-mount Park races.
