Gain JACKSON, Mich.. June 11.— Jackson Raceway closed its spring harness racing meeting Saturday with so many records being shattered on closing night that track officials found it difficult to keep up with them. The closing night crowd wagered 12,302, which was an all-time high mark the Raceways four-year history, compared with the previous high of 6,267. recorded on the final night of the 1951 meeting. The 25 -night meeting showed a wagering total of ,576,195 compared with the ,014,511 in the 23 nights of the 1951 meeting. The increase represented a percentage gain of 55. The 1952 daily average 3,048 compared to 1951s 4,109. Most startling increase disclosed was in paid admissions, which showed a gain of per cent over the 1951 totals. The 55 per cent increase in wagering at meeting was surprisingly high in view the fact that the entire session was plagued with cold, rainy weather, forcing cancellation of seven complete programs and the last three races on one of Saturday nights.
