Benhadar Clever Victor In No. 2 of Montchanin Argentine-Bred Shows Way Home To Net Result; Bimfort Fourth DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 11. — Ramon De Legorburus Argentine-bred nine-year-old, Benhadar, injected [himself forcibly into the Montchanin Handicap series when he charged from off the pace to accomplish a clever accounting for the mile and a furlong version in 1:52. Anthony Allens Net Result was two I lengths behind the winner and a neck before Thomas W. Baker, Jr.s, Vamancs, with Harry Husmans Bimfort, winner of last weeks race, in fourth position. | Welcome relief from the recent heat ; wave brought out a good crowd of approximately 13,500 who wagered on events conducted over a fast track. Benhadar, under | the veteran Ronnie Nash, was timed creditably for the nine panels and returned .90 as second choice. Benhadar, through his victory, picked up 24 points and moved into second position behind Bimfort, whose fourth today increased her point scoring to 27. In view of Benhadars effort, plus the poor one turned in by Bimfort, the Argentine gray shapes up as somewhat of a standout in the impending runnings, which increase in distance each week. Bimfort, who raced from off the pace in winning the inaugural running, was hard held during the early stages today, but still was forced to set the pace as others rated behind her. The filly held sway into the stretch, as her pursuers bunched up and Benhadar moved from eighth to third position when straightened for the stretch run. Once allowed to ramble, Benhadar did not leave the issue in doubt, for he merely bounded by his opponents to wrest command and draw clear rather convincingly. Net Result held on for the place over Vamanos, as Bimfort gave way badly in the final sixteenth.
