FICKLE-MAN broke alertly, was taken off the pace and placed under stout- restraint to the final quarter mile, assumed command and was under constant pressure to maintain the lead. GRAY CHIEF, in hand while improving position on the outside, failed to menace when put to pressure. OCEAN PLAY slipped through along the inside to near the leader, then went evenly. FORTNIGHT closed with good energy. MOON NIGHT was unable to keep up. DANDY FOOT set the pace for a half mile and weakened. LITTLE AUD lacked early speed. RAPT wen* evenly. GALLA BABE was outrun. SCHOLARSHIP raced in close attendance of the pace, responded gamely when put to pressure and drew clear near the end. SHIRLEYS PRIDE outran the field to establish the pace, saved ground and held on stubbornly under energetic handling. BIRDIE LULLEY weakened after forcing the pace. BILL HOWK was best of tbe others. DIANADA went evenly. HARD HITTER raced wide. CONCERT PIECE showed nothing. ANAMIA went well for a half mile. EQUIPASS was outrun. WENDIGO, outrun early, fell near the five-sixteenths pole and appeared to have suffered a suspensary ligament. He was later destroyed. PRINCESS HOPE showed good speed from the start, forced the pace to the stretch, assumed command and withstood a sustained drive. MESL, never far off the pace, swung to the outside for the drive and just missed. MUSICAL LADY moved along the inside to take the lead soon after the start, skirted the inner rail on the turns and held on stubbornly. ASTEROIDE showed a good effort. SAILING HIGH lacked a closing rally. WAR CANDY showed nothing. HERESA DREAM was never prominent. The others were outrun. Scratched— 44927 Spy Ring, 107. PRINCE RANSOM outsped the field to take a comfortable lead, was put to pressure before entering the stretch and was kept under a steady drive to the end BEAMING LIGHT improved position steadily on the outside, neared the leader at the furlong pole, then raced evenly. ENFORCER finished on the outside with a belated rush. CHARING ROCK, under urging early to remain close to the pace, challenged briefly after three furlongs and weakened. TIGER MATT had no mishap. FINDER KEEPER caught tiring horses. QUICK BUCK was never prominent. CLAIRE DAUBER, unable to race with the pace, flattened out when roused and was not persevered with when beaten. DAY-DREAMER dropped out of contention early and was steadied to the final quarter mile, moved readily on the outside while losing ground, reached the lead inside the final sixteenth and drew clear. MARPHIL disposed of WOLFCAMP before a half mile, drew clear entering the stretch, but was not good enough. HOOP GANO tarried at the break, was rushed up on the outside, neared the leader and weakened. GLADE WELL had no mishap. GAME LADY showed nothing. WOL/CAMP" quit. TO MARKET raced in close attendance of the pace for a quarter mile, assumed command without effort, drew clear and set a rapid pace throughout, having something left at the end. TIO CIRO, in hand to the far turn, came between horses to the final turn, moved to the inside and closed with good energy. ONE HITTER, kept out in the middle of the track until the clubhouse turn, maintained an even position down the backstretch, moved on the far turn, but failed to rally when roused. ALERTED began his move after a half mile, loomed as a threat entering the far turn, reached the stretch and went evenly. NAMELUKE, far off the pace for five furlongs, was sent up on the outside, but was never a serious threat. ABSTRACT was never prominent. CHAT NOIR II. showed nothing. SIMMS was through after a half mile. SUN BAHRAM was outrun. LITTLE STEP .broke alertly, swerved badly until reaching the main track, held a clear lead until the backstretch, gave way and retired steadily. Scratched— 59755 Fighting Back, 100. EXPORT TRADE, kept near the pace, was forced to take up on the turns until the stretch, gained racing room, but was blocked again as RAY K. moved over to the rail. CURRUHUINCA was outrun.
