TRADEWIND went to the front early to obtain a good lead rounding the first turn and. shaking off POIGNANCY after going half the distance, drew away while saving ground and was never in danger. FRANK MUNNS lacked early speed and was taken back when he raced into close quarters around the far turn, then came to the outside to close a fair gap. UTOPIA LASS loomed up on the inside after entering the stretch, but was not good enough. SABSON began slowly and was badly outrun for over six furlongs, then made a move on the outside, but went very wide on the stretch turn and was unable to threaten. MISS NAP tired. OGIVE weakened after making a mild move nearing the stretch turn. Overweight— Tradewind, 1 pound; Utopia Lass, 3: Miss Nap, 1; Tax Lien, 4. Sabson claimed by P. Ariola. Miss Nap claimed by W. H. BIG BUSTER got to the front early and drew out slightly from STAGGERING IN after going a quarter, then gamely withstood a stretch challenge from NETCHERETTE to win in a drive. NETCHERETTE moved up when ready and took a slight lead entering the last furlong, but was unable to hold off the winner. STAGGERING IN was well placed and went gamely to the last fifty yards, where she appeared to weaken. FUN QUEST was never too far away in a fair effort. RAWLINS was outrun and unable to find an opening in the stretch. EXCELSIS was unable to keep up. INSTYLE dashed to the front on the outside before racing an eighth and, taking a short lead over NEWS AGAIN, withstood repeated challenges from the latter to draw out slightly near the finish. NEWS AGAIN was always a strong contender in a good effort. BIENVILLE, well up early, raced wide on the stretch turn and, bearing out steadily thereafter, finished going strongly on the extreme outside and was probably best. MELLO JACK was bothered slightly when F. 0. BEE went down and was not a contender thereafter. JUDY ROUNDERS was eased back and steered wide to avoid F. 0. BEE when the latter fell and had little chance. F. 0. BEE was moving up on the inside rounding the far turn when he fell. Overweight— Sirtenayr, 1 pound. FOURTH RACE 6 FURLONGS. Lady Libby. FANCY FOOD took a fair lead after going a quarter, then withstood a challenge from SISTER CORA in the stretch, but was doing his best to hold JIMMYS DOLL. The latter saved ground in the stretch and closed strongly on the inside to be gaining on the winner. Her rider lodged a claim of foul that was not allowed. SISTER CORA displayed good early speed, but weakened near the end. BIG INCH was going fairly well at the finish. HOOKED raced on the outside early, but moved up strongly nearing the stretch turn, then faded in the final eighth. MIST 0 DAWN was m close quarters around the far turn. BARGAINER was in rather tight quarters after the start and went wide on the first turn, but took command on the backstretch while still under light restraint, then drew out in the stretch, but was doing her best at the end to hold FAMOUS CORNER. The latter trailed in the early stages and raced wide while making his move, but finished strongly and was gaining. YUTU was closest to the leader most of the way and held on fairly well. FOXY WAGER took a short "lead around the far turn and, although headed by EASY LAD nearing the stretch turn, fought it out with the latter all through the stretch ana lasted to win narrowly. EASY LAD turned in a courageous performance and barely missed. ARMY CONSCRIPT went wide in the stretch, but finished full of run to obtain a dead-heat for second place with EASY LAD and would have won in few more strides. WAR TEDDY lacked speed to the last eighth, then made up some ground. HEZAHONEY raced wide. DEAL ME IN was going well at the finish. GLANCE and MR. DUDE weakened. SEVENTH RACE 6 FURLONGS. BLOODY STEP was never far from the pace and coming to the outside of the leaders on the stretch turn, moved up to challenge an eighth out, then bore in slightly during the run to the wire and bested ROMAN BATH in a drive. ROMAN BATH was under slight restraint while following STEAK BONE, and took a short lead when the latter began to falter, but was unable to resist the winner. RECLINE was unable to keep up with the early pace, but finished fast on the outside. STEAK BONE showed good early speed, but raced well to the final sixteenth where she weakened and was probably in need of the race. AIR MAIL was going fast and gamely at the end. FLYAMANITA was fairly prominent to the stretch, then stopped badly. The others appeared to be overmatched. Scratched— 59332 Mon-Pharo, 114; 11482 Lot O Luck, 111.
