HAPPY BOUND engaged AMAFOX early, put that ■ one away from the outside on the turn and, under strong handling, held CANTJDMAR safe. The latter was never far back, raced on the outside and was clearly best of the others. RED PASS found his* best stride too late. EXPECTANT had no apparent excuse in an even effort. NIGHT OWL, unhurried in the early stages, came to the outside to make his bid and wore down EASY TRAIL in midstretch. The latter had speed from the start, saved ground and held on fairly well. VANHILL closed a big gap after a slow start. MAMSELLE was used ip in vying for the lead. SHERIFF MEEHAN was void of early speed. RINGSIDE was through early. Overweight— Ringside, 2 pounds. PILOT MODEL followed in closest pursuit of the winner and, while unable to menace that one, was easily best of the others. WARDRIL, badly outrun early, moved through between horses when rallying on the second turn" and wore down the leaders entering the final furlong. MY SHOEMAKER was sent up on the outside on the second turn and appeared to hang after making a bold bid in the early stretch. PRINCE VILLON moved with a rush nearing the half-mile ground to wrest command three furlongs away, but had little left when the real test-came. HILL STREET was used up in vying for the early lead.
