: : TRAFFIC JUDGE — Breezed six furlongs in 1:1444 yesterday at Belmont in preparation for his probable engagement in Saturdays Belmont Stakes. Forty Head Bring 79,200 at Belmont Vendue; Goforward Tops at 9,000 Clark Horse Agency Obtainsi Menow Gelding; Christmas Pays 7,500 for Revolt BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., June 8. — A total of 40 thoroughbreds were sold at auction under the tent in the clubhouse parking lot at Belmont Park this morning in a vendue which Humphrey Finney, president of the Fasig-Tipton Company characterized as "solid rather than sensational," adding, "there were no sensational horses, but at the same time our new rules requiring a 00 entry fee and a 00 forfeit for scratching kept out a great many horses that would have brought only a few hundred dollars. The 40 head sold this rather chilly morning brought a total of 79,200 for an average of ,480. Two horses from the Hal Price Headley consignment were the stars of the auction. The three -year-old Goforward, who set one of the many new track records at Garden State Park in his last start, brought 9,000 from the Clark Horse Agency, -which was acting as agent for an undisclosed buyer. Goforward is a gelded bay threeryear-old by Menow from Presentation, by Bahram from Marsh Marigold, dam of Master Fiddle and Caltha. The second high of the vendue was the 7,500 trainer B. F. Christmas paid for the speedy four-year-old Revolt, a stakes-winning son of Revoked, from Pet, by Pharamond II. A complete summary follows: Consigned by Estate of Anthony L.
