LUMONO, forwardly placed from the beginning, forged to the front nearing the furlong marker and gradually increased his advantage when fully extended. FITZ-JAMES steadily improved his position to the stretch, but was unable to overtake the leader when hard ridden through the late stages. SLIDENESS, forced to take up sharply when in close quarters between horses during the early running, recovered readily to obtained tlje runner-up position entering the stretch, then faltered slightly when punished. HOTSPUR lacked the necessary rally. MISS JULIE failed to respond sufficiently when shaken for the ultimate test. BOCCACCIO had no apparent mishap. MR. JAY-JAY was unable to seriously endanger the top ones when subjected to stern pressure through the stretch. MARGARET M. tired. TIMELY LASS began alertly, but failed to stay. GOLDEN ZIPPER, shuffled back slightly entering the stretch, was unable to properly recover. SALTSELLER retired steadily after flashing brief speed. KNOCKANGO was through early. FLUELLEN and KNOW THYSELF were outrun. BLEAK, fractious at the post, never was dangerous during the running. CASH DAY raced forwardly for three furlongs, then weakened. CHAVERELL and the others never were prominent. SOUR NOTE, away alertly, raced forwardly placed to the stretch, responded readily when guided between horses for the drive and was along in the concluding, stride to prevail over CANARIS. The latter assumed a clear lead soon after the start, held sway to the stretch under steady rating, but faltered when subjected to- stern punishment during the late stages and was unable to cope with the winner. BOOTS, never far back, closed with good energy in a sharp effort. LEE CEE closed a gap. MOUFLON failed to make up appreciable ground. STEPCHILD saved ground to no avail. PAR AMOUR, slow to settle into best stride, improved his position during the run down the"*backstretch to take command when ready on the final turn and, though lugging in slightly during the late stages, gamely held RYTHMINHIM safe. The latter moved up boldly on the outside to attain the runner-up position after completing the final hurdle, was unable to overtake the winner when briskly ridden through the stretch,, but easily prevailed over the others. ANTAGONIZER, forced to take up slightly on several occasions while saving ground on the inside, failed to respopd sufficiently when shaken for the ultimate test. CURLY JOE, shuffled back soon after the start, rallied too belatedly to become an endangering factor. KHUMBABA and ONEIDA both tired. CONDOR II. never was prominent. DARK BELLE, always within striking distance, was unable to seriously endanger the leader when briskly ridden through the final furlong. SCANSION, away fastest, raced in closest pursuit of the winner to the furlong marker, but faltered when the real test came. SYLVIA PORTER had no apparent mishap. PLANETRIX never was formidable. BLUE BANNER raced FANTINE BUSHER into defeat to take command when ready leaving the final turn. and steadily increased her advantage while in hand; FANTINE BUSHER held sway for a half mile under hustling tactics, gave way to the winner thereafter, but held on willingly to outgame SOYA II. PARLO, away alertly, was reserved back of the early leaders, responded readily when shaken leaving the final turn and, though drifting in slightly nearing the furlong marker, took command when ready and briskly drew clear winning with speed in reserve. GAINSBORO GIRL took command immediately and held sway for six furlongs, gave way to the winner thereafter and, though unable to seriously endanger the latter after relinquishing the lead, held on willingly to outlast SPINNING TOP. The latter, slow to gain-best stride, moved up boldly entering the stretch, but lacked the necessary rally. ANOTHER WORLD steadily improved her position to reach near even terms for the lead on the final turn, was forced to take up slightly when in close quarters while tiring nearing the furlong marker and was unable to withstand the top ones. RIVERINA, far back early, came to the complete outside for the stretch run and closed gamely notwithstanding she returned to the unsaddling area in a decidedly lame condition. TALORA was outrun. HIGH VOLTAGE had no apparent excuse. EVENING OUT lacked early speed and failed to respond when set down for the final test. CRISSET saved ground to no avail. CARRY THE NEWS raced BATFISH into defeat to take command after a half mile, relinquished the lead to the winner at the furlong marker, then continued on gamely to outlast ICARIAN. The latter slipped through along the inner rail to attain closer contention leaving the final turn, but lacked the necessary rally. STEVIES PAL came to the inside to attain the runner-up position at the furlong marker, but was unable to reach the leader when hard hustled through the late stages. STRUTTING HIGH moved up boldly in the middle of the track for the stretch run, btu lacked a convincing rally. DAMASO dominated the early running, was taken back from the pace around the turn, then failed to respond sufficiently when shaken for the final test. MERMAN was outrun. TAR QUEEN tired.
