TATTENHAM was outrun for a half-mile, then improved his position and came strongly next to the rail in the stretch to take command and best RUSSELL TS in the drive. RUSSELL TS went to the front early and withstood a bid from BE FREE nearing the stretch turn to draw out again, then raced well to the end. BLUE AWARD-was never far from the pace and finished steadily. BE FREE was rushed into contention from a rather slow beginning and weakened in the last furlong. LOVIN LADY and BARBARA L. tired. KAYS CHILDREN wasclose enough early, but dropped back slightly when in close quarters, then came fast next to the rail in the stretch to be up to win in the final strides. BOBTAIL WILLIE was well up from the start and headed the field an eighth out, but was unable to resist the winner. AHSA BEAUTY dashed through an opening on the inside on the far turn to take command, but weakened in the final drive. AMPHIBLEN was never dangerous, although making up some ground. ELEVENPOINT weakened after making a mild move in the stretch. BE SWAYED was badly outrun.
