FLATROCK, in the middle of the track to /the upper turn, moved up boldly nearing the stretch, responded to strong handling during the drive and held MISS EGYPT safe. The* latter, roughed by KICKERINOS after the break, drifted to the outside at the stretch turn, then closed determinedly, but could not reach the winner. A foul claim against FLATROCK by MISS EGYPTS rider was not allowed. HAPPYS ,SAM saved ground from the start, remained next to the inner rail for. the drive, but could not stay with the top pair. BLARNEY JILL took an . early lead, set the pace until inside the stretch, then faltered. CRIMSON DUST, never far back, reached the lead during the drive, but failed to stay. HIHOJUDY raced wide. KICKERINOS swerved while showing early speed, then quit. BOWMANS FLASH tired after racinq well to the stretch. MARKS ENGINE disliked the sloppy track. MIGHTY TED could not keep up. ROCK DOZER, partial to the sloppy track, assumed command at once, established a good lead and won with something left. COLONEL ZEDER saved ground from the start, closed strongly, but could not threaten the top one, although much the best of the others. VYR gave a good performance and had no excuse. COJOC, forced to race wide to the stretch, failed to rally when set down in the drive. ONE GRAND bore out thrcuch the stretch., LIKE HOVER raced wide through the stretch. SAM PARK, well placed and saving ground from the start, responded readily when hard urged through the stretch, disposed of MILK WAR and won going away. The latter went to the front early, made the pace to the final furlong but could not stay with the winner, although easily best of the others. FAMOUS CORNER lacked early foot but finished strongly. BUCKS FREEDOM made a bold bid approaching the stretch but failed to stay when set down in the drive. ALACASSULA began sluggishly. MONMOUTH was through early. FLYING MILE was never dangerous. BROAD CROSS, outrun to the stretch, closed determinedly when set dovvn in the drive, but could not threaten the top one. FEUDING raced forwardly placed until inside the stretch, then swerved while tiring. DR. FELIX was unable to reach the leaders when set down through the stretch and had no excuse. DEAR TINT began fast, set the pace for a half mile, then weakened. REBOUNDER began sluggishly. MOON LOVE could not keep up, POTTERAC showed nothing. Scratched— 50606 Buster Jim, 117.
