Doubledogdare Works Fine Five Furlongs in :59, Flat BELMONT PARK, .Elmont, L. I., N. Y., June 27. Claiborne Farms Doubledogdare, , clever winner of the filly division of the National Stallion Stakes, dazzled work-watchers at Belmont Park this morning when she stepped five furlongs in :59 from the gate. The daughter of Double Jay, who has been training cleverly since her triumph on May 18, is believed to be pointing for the 0,000 added Colleen Stakes at Monmouth Park next Saturday. She was fully rigged with blinkers this morning and j had jockey Jimmy Nichols in the saddle as she sped the fractions in :34, :46. Samuel A. Pecks Ever Best, who is eligible to oppose Nashua in Saturdays Dwyer Stakes at Aqueduct, but is not a likely starter in that mile and a .quarter, showed high speed this morning when he went five panels in 1:00 with considerable ease. "Name" horses were conspicuous by their absence at all three of the Long Island tracks the last two mornings.
