Claiborne Farms Doubledogdare, , clever winner of the filly division of the National Stallion Stakes, dazzled work-watchers at Belmont Park this morning when she stepped five furlongs in :59 from the gate. She was fully rigged with blinkers this morning and j had jockey Jimmy Nichols in the saddle as she sped the fractions in :34, :46. Samuel A. Pecks Ever Best, who is eligible to oppose Nashua in Saturdays Dwyer Stakes at Aqueduct, but is not a likely starter in that mile and a .quarter, showed high speed this morning when he went five panels in 1:00 with considerable ease. "Name" horses were conspicuous by their absence at all three of the Long Island tracks the last two mornings.
