State Board Asks Return" Of Trot Sport to Syracuse SYRACUSE, N. Y., June 28. The State Fair Advisory Board Monday, unanimously adopted a resolution calling for a return of harness racing and pari-mutuel betting at the state Fair Grounds. Harness racing at the Syracuse Fair Grounds last was conducted in 1952. There was no wagering. The fail runs for 10 days in early September. The boards resolution also asked for a new grandstand and improvements to the tracks surroundings. Deputy agriculture commissioner Paul Smith is a member of the board.
