First Landing in Good Belmont Move Timed 6 Furlongs In 1:13, Handily Will Leave in Day or Two For Pimlico and Preakness; Seven Corners Travels Mile By COSTY CARAS Staff Correspondent BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., May 11. — The Meadow Stables First Landing, prepping for his engagement in the Preakness, appeared on the Belmont main track this morning and breezed three-quarters of a mile in 1:13, handily. The handsome son of Turn-to — Hildene, by Bubbling Over, moved smoothly in fractions of :36% for 3 furlongs, moved past the half-mile pole in :48% and was caught in 1:01 after traveling 5 panels. The Chis-topher T. Chenery colorbearer was permitted to gallop out an additional eighth of a mile and the dockers tabbed him in 1:26%. Trainer J. Homer "Casey" Hayes was highly pleased with his charges tour and pronounced him ready for his task over the week end. Hayes announced that First Landing will be shipped to Maryland Wednesday or Thursday. Rich Tradition Goes Fast 5 Furlongs Trainer Jack Skinner sent the Rokeby Stables Seven Corners a good mile in 1:41%. Seven Corners finished up well after covering the first three-quarters in 1:15 and. Socrates, from the King Ranch string, stepped a half mile in :48 and Fox-catcher Farms Lopar, was under slight restraint while posting a 1:17% for 6 furlongs. Rich Tradition, from the Meadow Stable, dashed 3 panels in a quick :35 while Calumet Farms A Glitter, who finished second to Brookmeades Big Effort in the Bed o Roses, traveled a like distance in :37 breezing. Trainer Sherrill Ward put Mrs. Josephine Bay Pauls Greek Spy through a mile drill and that stakes winner responded with a 1:44 effort. This racer should be ready for his seasonal debut shortly. Reginald N. Websters Stockwell drilled a half mile in :49% over the Belmont training track on Sunday, and trainer Johnny Nerud sent Upland Turf a like distance in :50, handily. On the Jamaica track Sunday, Mrs. Joe W. Browns Tenacious, who is having his difficulties getting started on the local scene, stepped a handy 7 furlongs in 1:29.. Merrick Stables Wing Jet had a useful five-furlong drill in 1:02 while Walter A. Kelley had Joe Jones, a game veteran of the races, step a half mile in :50, breezing. Miss Patrice Jacobs Our Dad, who is a Preakness candidate, worked a half mile in :49%. Land of Hope and Mount Scopus, members of the Jacobs barn, breezed three-quarters with former posting 1:15 and the latter a slower 1:18. Brae Burn Farms Shirley Jones, an eligible for Saturdays 0,000-added Acorn Stakes, breezed 4 furlongs in :51% and was not asked for any of her speed during the trial. Elmendorfs Jimson Weed exhibited good speed during her three furlong stint in :35.
