April Fool Stable Runners To Compete at River Downs CINCINNATI, May 11. — Three juveniles — April Sky, April Bay and April Amour — are in the line-i.p that trainer Gene Sem-ler will campaign at River Downs for the April Fool Stable. River Downs will open its 44-day season Friday, May 29. Semler, who will ship here from Churchill Downs, also is campaigning Jackfield for the April Fool Stable, which is owned by Fred Jones Jr., Sam Johnston and Pete Larcomb, Columbus, Ohio, sportsmen. The April Fool establishment won the Ohio Championship Handicap at Beulah last fall with Clark but he recently underwent an operation for a removal of a bone chip from his knee. He sustained the in-jury at Hialeah. Park. Clark is now in Kentucky but he soon will be shipped to Jones farm near Gahanna, Ohio. The Ohio Championship Cap winner is out of action until August, at the earliest.
