Claim Derby Crowd 72,951 LEXINGTON, Ky., May 11.— Official attendance for the Kentucky Derby has never been released to newspapers other than the usual figure of "100,000 estimated." According to the current issue of The Blood Horse, the attendance at the Derby this year was 72,951. The magazine also states that in 1957 * the attendance was below 60,000.
