ELJAKA, well placed behind the top pair, found room next to the rail and wrested command in the last sixteenth, then just lasted to stave off TOY FOX. The latter, away slowly, worked forward between horses, came to the outside for the final charge and finished with a rush. WAR LOVER had the most speed, drifted out on the stretch turn and weakened. AT FORTY could not keep up early, but saved ground and finished well. PLIANT lacked an effective rally. PELELIU was sluggish and outrun early. BURNHAM WOOD bore out on the turn and tired. LONELY MAID established a clear lead at the start, drifted out under punishment in the stretch and brushed ALL IN ONE in the final stages, for which she was disqualified and placed second. ALL IN ONE raced closest to the winner under steady urging, appeared ready to take command in the final sixteenth, but was bumped by LONELY MAID and began drifting out at the end. CROSS VIEW raced wide around horses and finished well. TIGER CAT could not stay with the top pair early and faltered. MISS SMITH had brief speed. TOURNEY began fast, was given a breather when displaced by DANNY 0. on the final iurn and willingly came again when punished to win going away. FIRST TEE raced slightly wide going with the first flight and finished gamely to best GOLD REWARD. The latter bore out on the turn, came between horses for the final run and finished fast. VALIANT LADY raced up behind horses on the final turn and could not get up in the stretch drive. DANNY 0. quickly raced into a clear lead on th£ stretch turn, but drifted in sharply and suddenly faltered. MEASUREMENT was slightly crowded near the end. BOBBYS BULL lacked speed from the gate and did not menace. LACEY HEART was taken up sharply after the break. ERRASINA dueled with OLYMPIA LOU into the stretch; then responded when punished and steadily drew away. OLYMPIA LOU raced on the outside and held a short advantage into the straightaway, then sulked when punished, but lasted to hold DEVIL RUSH clear. The latter, slow settling into best stride, saved all possible ground and finished willingly. ASPIRE raced in spots, but finished well. CORTINA II. tired. DEL VALLEY lacked early speed. WHITE LIGHT immediately opened a commanding lead, increased his advantage entering the stretch and won easily. PEN-IN-HAND worked forwardly between horses rounding the turn and closed fast in the stretch drive. I UP, steadied within striking distance, began dropping back on the final turn and, not responding to brief rousing, continued to weaken. APPIAN WAY was not a serious factor. NECKTIE, reserved lightly behind the leaders, responded to strong hand urging m the final three-sixteenths,, wrested command in the last seventy yards and withstood BETTER GOODS. The latter, taken in hand at the start, trailed into the stretch, then closed with a rush in the middle of the course. FULL BROTHER was under snug restraint racing within striking distance, made a bold bid when set down for the stretch run, but hung. DANDOLO maintained a short advantage racing on the outside of ROMAN ROCKET, shook off that one to draw clear entering the stretch and weakened only in the last yards.
