r Winfrey Issues Statement On The Dancers Condition BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., May 25. — This morning Bill Winfrey, trainer of Native Dancer, made the following statement concerning his horses condition: "We walked him an hour this morning and he was perfectly sound with no evidence of any soreness. However, it is impossible to make a decision about the immediate future. Mr. Vanderbilt will return some time tomorrow afternoon and it will be Thursday morning at the earliest before we arrive at a decision of when Native Dancer will run again. I am not concerned with the seriousness of the present injury, which does not seem to be bad at all. However, we must decide whether working and racing him now would provide too great a risk of major injury."
