RAYS PRIDE raced evenly to the stretch, responded to good handling during the drive and, disposing of the leaders, won going away. SHORT TINT took an early lead, raced WAR DOLLAR into defeat before entering the stretch but could not stay with the winner, although much the best of the others. HUMPHREY finished fairly well under punishment but could not seriously threaten the top pair: STORM BIRD lacked early speed. TWO-DUCKS saved ground throughout, made a good bid in the early stretch, then weakened. SIDS BIRTHDAY had no mishaD. MR. SKEETER began alertly but failed to stay. WAR DOLLAR engaged SHORT TINT to the stretch but had nothing left for the drive. COL. MOE 1EE showed nothing. MASTERWIND. RANK DURING THE POST PARADE, RAN OFF THREE-QUARTERS OF A MILE THE WRONG WAY OF THE TRACK, WAS ORDERED WITHDRAWN FROM THE RACE AND ALL WAGERS ON HIM WERE REFUNDED. LUCKY SWEEP, never far back and well handled, responded to vigorous urging during the stretch run and wore down ONE GAMBLE in the last strides. The lead, but was unable to withstand the winner. JUST BARBARA saved ground throughout, made a game bid latter, a sharp factor from the start and showing marked improvement, settled for the drive with a short in the early stretch, then faltered. TIFFANY raced wide. BOLD SPOT raced well to the stretch, then weakened. CUTE WAY began sluggishly. GIN-V/AR had early speed, but failed to stay. BUDS BABY showed nothing. HIGH AUTHORITY, rough at the post and away sluggishly, moved up fast after the start, settled in the stretch with a good lead, but was briskly ridden thereafter to withstand NARAJO. The latter raced evenly to the stretch, closed srongly when set down in the drive, but could not get to the winner. JANES PRIDE lacked early foot and was unable to get to the leaders when hard urged through the stretch. NONNIE JO tired after showing early foot JIMMINETTY was outrun. PIGEON PIE took command at once, set the pace until inside the stretch, then gave way when challenged by HIGH AUTHORITY. MR. RAINES began alertly, but failed to stay, FOURTH RACE 5 FURLONGS. SVIDHOD, a keen factor from the start, disposed of SHORT SIS after entering the stretch and drew clear, winning with something left. SHORT SIS took command at once, set the paec to the final furlong, but could not hold the winner, although much the best of the others. DAWNEY, rank at the post, finished fairly well, but could not threaten the top pair. ALICIA ANN saved ground hroughout and tired during the stretch run. GAMBELLA raced wide throughout. REDDY TEDDY raced nearest SHORT SIS to the stretch, but had nothing left for the drive. CHALLENGE WITT had no mishap BILLS CAROL was outrun. NEWATE swerved to the outside soon after the break, losing all chance. SYLBEL had no excuse. FANNY WOOD showed nothing. CRIMSON DUST was far back the entire trip.
