LATiST LEXINGTON GOSSIP John Lowe Loses Spread Eagle — Morvich Two -Year -Olds Shipped East. LEXINGTON, Ky.. April 0. -Jimmy Acker-man returned to Lexington today from New Orelans and is awaiting the arrival of his colt Tim OBrien and a couple of others, the property of John Shank of Chicago. They are going into the stable occupied by tiM Sewell Combs horses. They have been in .lack McPhcrsons charge. The McPherson horses are going to Louisville and such as are to race here will be shipped over from there. John l,ovo had the misfortune to lose the six year-old bay gelding Spread Fagle, by Hesperus -La Sierra. When the Lowe Jjorses left Jefferson Park they walked through water. which covered the road from the track to the railway station. Spread Kagle had -racked heels, and they became infected. When they reached the Kentucky Association track tetanus developed and caused his death. Bichard Wilson, local shipping agent, left here this afternoon with nine thoroughbreds, two of which are hunters and cross country •horses sent by James C. Stone to a friend in Baltimore. Pour are two-year-olds by Morvich. the property of Benjamin Block, which are being shipped to Fred Burlew to be raced. They have been in training at Hinata Farm. Om goes to Johnny Loftus from Hal Price Headleys Beaumont Farm, and John TV Carr is sending another to Joe Fdwards at New York. Walter S. Payne, manager of James Cox Bradys Dixiana Farm, today went over to Taris. Ky., to see his employers mare. Tea Biscuit own sister to Tea Caddy and her chestnut colt foal by Man o War, which are at A. B. Hancocks Claiborne Stud. He was delighted with the youngsters appearance This youngsters sire is by Fair Play, out of a daughter of Bock Sand and his dam is by Book Sand, out of a daughter of Hanover. A. B. dallagher certainly is a "filly man" as goes the phrase among breeders of thoroughbred horses. Last year eight of the ten foals from his mares were fillies and thus far this year five of his mares have foaled fillies. There are seven more mares due to foal and he is fearful thev all will be fillies. The Kentucky Sales Company issued the catalog for the sale of thoroughbreds to bo held at Douglas Park, May 7, 1026. The sale will embrace sixty-four head, fifty-six of which are those recently purchased by W. K Caskey. Jr., and Tbomas B. Cromwell from the Williams Brothers, of Blackwell, Okla. Three are the property of Messrs. A. L. Ferguson and J. S. Hawkins. They are all out »f the mare Delico, and are being sold to dissolve partnership. One is the Kentucky l»erhy candidate. Nocturnal. Another is the two-year-old Thaddeus, and the other is their yearling half-brother to American Ace. Fair Catch, Nudnod, Bed Hot, and Quick Money, the property of W. F. Knebelkamp. | , and the two-year-old Speedometer, property: j of the estate of J. Brutus Clay are the others | . to go under the hammer. In addition to the horses all of the racing stable equipment of Williams Brothers, and a couple of lead ponies are to be sold. «
