Dick Welles* Selections At Bowie ! i j i , , H. P. WHITNEY ENTRY— A. 1 CANALE— BEST FRIEND. Whitney two-year-olds, as a rule, are always ready for the races when Bowie gets under way and they usually earn their share of stakes and purses. In the opening race either MIXIATOK or CAPRICORN is well able to romp home the winner. They both scored in their only starts. A. P. CANALE raced well at Miami and is the one which is most feared. BEST FRIEND should get a portion of the purse, if he will race to his New Orleans form. EAGER— BODY/ GUARD— TOD RENESOR. EAGER ran a good and game race to get home in advance in his last out. If he gets off to a good start today, look for him to lead all the way. BODY GUARD is now in«fine fettle, and his long rest since the Fairmount Park meeting should have done him a world of good. TOD RENESOR most likely will be the one to save the show money. TIMMARA— WELSHOT— TOYLAND. TIMMARA, the T. W. OBrien hope for the Kentucky Derby, showed in his only appearance at this course this spring that he is ready for anything that can be mustered against him. His return to the races was an auspicious one when he easily led home Rapture and Harvey Stedman. In his present good form he appears to have this race at his mercy. WELSHOT scored a nose victory in his last race, but he meets better company today and dont think he can repeat TOYLAXDS chances look good for getting the show money. REPARATION— LOUNGER— SENATOR NORRIS. REPARATION merely toyed with his opponents in winning the Inaugural Handicap on opening day, and he should not have any more trouble in accounting for this race, the Prince Georges Handicap, which features the card. He picks up six pounds over his last race, but the weight. 119 pounds, should not prove too much of a handicap for him. LOUNGER, which raced so brilliantly at New Orleans, is the one expected to furnish the most trouble for the winner at the weights. SENATOR XORRIS is asked to carry top weight of 126 pounds and though in rare form at the present, dont think he can carry that weight successfully. CARE FREE— MUNGO— MARK MASTER. CARE FREE is again displaying the form i he had when he hung up so many victories last year. He is back in the stable of A. E. | Alexandra, the only trainer who was ever j able to get him to race kindly. Look for i him to run his score to three in a row to-I day. MUNGO ran a good race his last out, i but he will have to step some to beat CAKE I FREE, should that animal be in a running mood. MARK MASTER has been a long time ! in getting into winning form but his last race was a good one and he may improve over that. RUPEE— CLIQUE— MARY ELLEN O. 1 RUPEE has two good races to his credit at this course and looks like the best play in this race. CLIQUES recent races have not been so good but its said that he is now in form and he should be the one to get the place portion of the purse. MARY ELLEX O. looks good for third place. WILKES-BARRE— SPUGS— YOSHIML WILKES-BARRE always shows to his best when racing over this course, as attested by his last two races, being wins. He meets some stiff opposition here, but look for him to be the victorious one. SPUGS and j YOSHIMI appear to be the ones most likely I to get the place and show portions with the [formers chances liked the best
