FINALE AT ORLANDO TODAY » Initial Meeting at Seminola Park Unsuccessful Financially. ♦ Senor Takes Besl Race of Fridays Program St. Donards Fourth Triumph — Uausser Hides Three Wins. ♦ ORRAXPO. Fla.. April 9. — Racing at Seminola Park comes to a close on Saturday after nineteen days of sport. The meeting introduced the thoroughbred sport to central Florida and a favorable impression has been made upon a thriving section by the conduct of the sport which has been above reproach. Residents of Pong wood, Orlando. Sanford and other n arby centers took quickly and kindly to the sport, but the venture is recorded as a failure by the promoters. The meeting made friends for the sport but did not make money for those who backed it. The chief obstacle in the way of successful promotion has been four miles of almost impassable- road between the track and the state highway. The fact that the meeting has been patronized at all in spite of such a road is proof that racing has always proved attractive in whatever locality introduced. Jockey Anderson rode Senor to brackets In competition with the best field, starting at Rongwood on the semi-final day V.f the Seminole Jockey Club meeting. The Feruvian and Poosling were closest to the P. I. Stark representative at the end of five-eighths. Roosting set the pace almost to the stretch, but swung wide on the turn and Frosty Dawn raced through on the inside. In bearing out P.oosting carried The Peruvian with her. They straightened out behind Frosty Pawn with the three riders plying their whips. Senor, finishing fast inside of them in the final drive, won and beat The Peruvian by half a length. The sun shone down strongly on one of the largest crowds of the meeting. The track was heavy as a result of rains of the last few days. St. Ponard won his fourth race out of five starts at the meeting when he won the fifth race, a three-quarters mile affair. First Call finished second to the Q. P. Fought color-bearer, while Goldmark was third. Rausser rode the winner, his second of the afternoon.
